After seeing you in "...White Music," Denise, and then reading that you're headlining the cast of "Lady Day," that was all we needed to know to get tickets immediately! You're a marvel of a talent, Denise, and thank you for performing in the Dallas area when "greater" venues no doubt beckon.

Denise, my partner Randy and I meet you last month at the Hideaway while visiting Dallas, from Galveston, 10/20. Your performance just blew me away and I bought your CD Between the Two of Us. I listened to it all the way home to Galveston. I just want you to know that as your song implies, you have touched my life. Strange but true we went with two of our friends to church on Sunday 10/21, at the Cathedral of Hope, we had never attended before and who's CD did I see in the Gift store, you know. I recently received a new update from the church and know of your upcoming benefit, good luck with that, sounds like a very deserving cause. I also read about your sister and the Lupus, I went thru a very similar situation, took them over two years to diagnose me, because I am a man they immediately decided without tests that I must have AIDS well I too am doing well but not without wanting to die from the pain, which brings me to my intention, sorry for the long way around. I am also a nurse and through a series of friends and much research, I found out about a drug called Thalidomide, it took my pain away in about a week, I have some pain due to my RA and Lupus but nothing like I had in the beginning. I just want you to know about it should your sister run out of things to try. I had told my doctor that I wanted to try anything that would help; change my disease I did not just want to take pill to mask the pain and this did just that, not without some side effects some neuropathy in my feet but a small price to pay for how I feel most of the time. As a woman if you were to take this drug you would not be able to get pregnant as it cause birth defects but check into this it may save her life in the future as it did mine. Sorry for the ranting but the story about your sister really hit home.
Again let me tell you how much I enjoyed your music and look forward to so much more in the future. Thank you for the wounderful and unexpected evening I will always remember it and you. Thanks again.
Best Wishes to you and you sister

We loved the show on Sat. night. Who knew we had such great talent north of LBJ.
I talked to you about Ellen Smith from Katrina. Here is the site I found the cd she made with Bob French, I just ordered it. I know she lives in the jazz village that Marsalis and Connick sponsored. If I get contact info I will send it to you. We will be watching your calendar and hope to see you soon. Tell your lovely daughter I said Hi.

The new site look is good. As you continue up the ladder of new direcions and broader experiences, know that you carry the love of your family and friends with you. When you get afraid, just turn around and look behind you ... we'll be there...... asking for free tickets .... or a CD ... or to borrow those snappy little high-heeled shoes you wore at Stone Street Theatre. Smooches.

Hi Denise, yes people are reading your website. I haven't met you yet, but I have been a fan of Gary's for about 2 years. I look forward to seeing you at Phases on 4/14. I have Gary's album titled "Cover" and really enjoyed the duet. God Blessed me with some good music when I needed it through the two of you. Music is a ministry and - ya minista to me. I have to hear "His Eye is on the Sparrow"!

Hye, beautiful!! You were wonderful in Bible Women last week. I especiall loved "And the Angel Said Unto Me" and "Lead Me to the Rock". Also, let me know when/if you get a chance to listen to the cover of Strange Fruit. I'd love to hear you're opinion. True, she doesn't seem it in the same context as it ewas written, but her heart's in the right place, considering her grandmother was full-blooded Cherokee, and Tori grew up listening to stories of the killings and horrors her grandmother had to go through. Sending ya hugs and much love and respect!!

Hey Mrs. Lee,
We don't get to see each other much anymore since the girls are in 'drill' team now instead of 'dance' team. I was reading an article in the Morning News last month and saw a piece on you which had you web address. We just wanted to say how wonderful it is to see your face in so many places and I know we'll see it many more. Stay Kewl (Alex's word)and keep Movin' On Up!

Hey there Denise. Loved performing with you on Sunday...and every other time we get the chance to. Everybody I talked to loved the show and had a geat time! Raves I tell ya, Raves! Thanks for accepting me for the me that I am. See ya soon sweetie!

Wow!!! Thanks for the awesome show at Watertower last night! You LADIES really sang your BLUES, and flat chased mine away! I can't remember a more enjoyable evening--especially when "Push the Button" blew Larry B. away! You're really CRAZY, and we all loved it!!
Denise, what an amazing and fantastic voice HE has blessed you with!! You really made my heart smile. Don't you DARE be at all discouraged or disappointed by the comments in LINDA's note today about the performance. Your sense of humor and judgement came from the same place that your amazing vocal talent did, and the intolerance that some folks display comes from a totally different place.
Enough about that "STUFF". I left a voice mail for you today, asking for your mailing address so I can send you a copy of the new "ROOMFUL OF BLUES" CD I was telling you about. They are an eight piece, sort of "Jump Blues" group based out of the east coast somewhere, and have been around for years and years. They are one of my "faves", and I think you'll enjoy them, too.
I wish I had picked up one of your CD's while we were there last night. I meant to, but in all the hustle and bustle, I forgot. Maybe I can get one when we see you playin' at one of your local gigs. We're going to make a point of trackin' you down, and while the local "club scene" is not our usual bit, (Love the music, but can't handle the smoke!), don't be surprised if we show up at Phases during one of your March appearances. By the way, when in March is your B-Day?? Mine is the 24th!
We look forward to seein' and HEARIN' you again soon. Thanks again for the amazin' night.
God Bless You and Yours,
Roger & Laura M.

I saw you last night in "Ladies Sing the Blues." I love you! After taking some ladies from my church to see you in Crowns, I am so glad that none of them could go with me last night because of some of the comments from your group. Many of us are not true theater types - as in totally thinking it is OK to see, say, and do anything. We just like quality singing and performances and are used to that from you. Theater people may not be sensitive to things the general public is - like a friend of mine whose husband left her with three children so that he could live with another man. That hurts for life. And, a decades long friendship of mine that ended when she left to live with a woman. Those are very personal hurts to some people. I love you and want you to continue to be the best. The three of you were too good to have to play up the things you did. I don't need to know that someone is channeling her straight side before she sings one of the most beautiful duets I have ever heard in my life! The sophisticated lady, much more so than I am, who went with me agrees with what I am writing. We are going to continue to follow you because we love you, but we were just disappointed last night. (Plus you never did sing "praises to God" as advertised.) I love you, Denise.

I stumbled upon your website and felt immediately connected to you. I know how hard it is when you have a goal. Starting a journal was the best thing you could have ever done for yourself. Even when you get bogged down and you miss a couple of days (and this will happen) go back and fill in the pages from memory.
Keep God first in all that you do and say and you gone be alright!
